Wheels and Feet
By David M. Smith
Feet
come in all sizes
Elephants have feet
so do kangaroos.
Even ants have feet
John has feet
Wheels
come in different sizes
Cars have wheels
so do bicycles.
Lorries have big wheels
So does Anna
John walks with his feet
Anna walks with her wheels
because her feet don’t work properly
John and Anna
play ball together
and eat ice creams together
They race each other
but Anna always wins –
her wheels are faster
John can hang upside down
and make faces at Anna
They both laugh and make jokes together.
Sometimes John helps Anna to do things
like climbing steps.
Sometimes Anna helps John to do things
like carrying the shopping.
Sometimes they work together
Anna likes to do sums.
John likes reading.
Everyone is good at something
Anna and John are friends.
