Deirdre McCarthy-nee Mulcahy, born and bred in Limerick, moved to a small town near Syracuse, NY in 1986. Her passion for Irish culture was instilled in her at a young age and not long after she came to America she soon became a storyteller performing in schools, libraries, and festivals throughout New York State. When she is not performing she enjoys writing stories, photographing nature, teaching Irish dance, playing concertina, tin whistle, spoons, and bodhran with the traditional Irish music group in Syracuse and last but not least performing with her very musical family. She has a wonderful husband Jim, two sons Cian and Shane, and Danny Boy their clever Wheaten Terrier.
