Cathy Maisano lives across from a beach in Sydney’s Northern Beaches in Australia. She has always lived close to the water’s edge. As a child growing up in Melbourne, her back gate opened directly on to a beach lined with different coloured beach huts and pathed the way for her imaginary worlds to grow.
She is the author of The Paradise Beach Mysteries. So far having written three books in the children’s series, these mystery novels aim to take children on a fascinating journey to some of the world’s most beautiful beaches. The adventures help children understand how precious and unique beach environments are, and the role each of us play in keeping beaches beautiful. She also writes short stories and mystery stories for adults.
When not writing, she is a cultural researcher who spends her time learning about different places and people and is especially interested in the impact physical environments can have on people and people on physical environments.
